Hanne Hurkkelberg – Little Things

Hanne Hurkkelberg is a norwegian singer/songwriter. This is her first album which was released way back in 2004, its a bit like a dreamy journey into blissful and fantastical child’s story with her dolls voice placed against an ecletic use of percusson instruments mixed with electronical elements, I especially like the second track called Searching, which blends in directly from the spooky opening track. I think its been used on an advert, can’t quite recall which one. Anyway a recommended album.
Arcade Fire – Neon Bible

Atmospherical orchestral indie music from a canadian band. Love the first song Black Mirror!
Happy New Year and Happy Birthday
February 20, 2007
Welcome to my first blog.
First of all I want to say gung hei fat choy (happy chinese new year).
It is now the year of the PIG. Those born this lunar year or turning 12, 24 or any multiple of 12, are all Pigs and if you are lucky enough to be a PIG, you have one of the best fortunes out of all the zodiac signs. This year should be a great year for you , bringing luck and fortune. Rumours are that this year is an especially rare “Golden-Pig” year, which happens only every 6 centuries.
In China and South Korea and other Chinese Lunar calender following communities around the world, there were noticeable increases in pregnancies as families rush to have children and bestow as much luck on their families. I’m convinced my parents are not planning on any more children, but coming home I find there are already pig ornaments cropping up all around my family house. We are a superstitious bunch with a long tradition and with the new year festivities it offers a chance for the children to learn and uphold these traditions.
Unfortunately, today is my 26th Birthday and I am not a PIG, but a Rooster. Although my brother is a PIG, turning 24 this summer so any luck and fortune that it may bring to him, I hope he shares it with me.
